Steve Timm is vice president and general manager, Air Transport Systems for Rockwell Collins. Timm is responsible for the company’s business activities with commercial airline and aircraft manufacturers, including the company’s communication, navigation, surveillance and information management systems that serve the Air Transport market. He was appointed to this position in July 2013.
Previously, Timm was vice president and general manager of Flight Information Solutions, a division that provides end-to-end solutions that enhance Flight Operations, Maintenance Operations, and Cabin Operations; helping Airlines, Business Jet Operators, and Aircraft OEMS reduce costs, simplify operations and improve customer service. He held this position since February 2008.
Timm has been at Rockwell Collins since 1996, serving in multiple leadership roles. He has served as senior director, United States Service Centers and director of the Life Cycle Value Stream Management implementation, establishing a new business framework across Rockwell Collins. He’s also had corporate responsibility for Lean Electronics, serving as a catalyst for key business initiatives and held various Information Technology Leadership positions, including the implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
Timm has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management Information Systems and Business from Wartburg College and a Master of Business Administration from The University of Iowa. He is an active member in the community, having served on the board of directors for the local Chamber of Commerce, former president for the Association of Information Technology Professionals and an active coach for various youth sports programs.
