Troy Brunk is vice president and general manager of Communication, Navigation & Electronic Warfare Solutions for Rockwell Collins Government Systems. In this role, Brunk is responsible for the company’s military communications business including Software Defined Radios (SDR), Data Link Solutions (DLS) and satellite communications. He was named to the position in September 2016.
Previously, Brunk served as vice president and general manager of Airborne Solutions for Rockwell Collins from 2012. In this capacity, he was responsible for the company’s Airborne Solutions business, which delivers avionics and flight deck solutions for fixed wing aircraft and helicopters. The business executes programs for a wide variety of platforms performing mission roles including fighter, bomber, trainer, cargo transport, refueling tankers and a variety of special mission roles. The organization also includes the company’s unmanned airborne systems business.
Since joining the company in 1992, Brunk has served in a variety of positions in Operations and Program Management, supporting the company’s commercial and government systems businesses. While in Operations, Brunk helped develop and led the early implementation of Lean principles across the enterprise. Brunk has held various positions of increasing responsibility, including programs manager for Multifunction Information Distribution System (MIDS), programs manager for the Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) Ground Mobile Radio program, director of Communications Products, senior director of Processing and Head Down Display Products, and senior director of Airborne Communication Products.
Brunk earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and Master of Business Administration degree from The University of Iowa.
He serves on the Industrial Advisory Board for The University of Iowa’s Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering and supports local youth activities.
