Rockwell Collins receives Purchasing magazine’s Medal of Excellence

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (September 14, 2005) - Purchasing magazine presented Rockwell Collins with its 21st Annual Medal of Professional Excellence Award today during a ceremony at the company's headquarters.

"Rockwell Collins is proud to join what is a virtual Hall of Fame of past winners," said Rockwell Collins Chairman, President and CEO Clay Jones. "This award reflects our accomplishments in streamlining our procurement and supply chain management practices, which significantly contribute to our ability to deliver best value to our customers."

Previous award winners include Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Lucent, Intel, Sun Microsystems, General Electric, Harley-Davidson and Cessna.

"Rockwell Collins certainly belongs in this group," said Purchasing Editor-in Chief Paul Teague. "The award reflects not only Rockwell Collins' professional excellence, but also the respect that the editors have for the company. We have the opportunity to observe procurement operations in a wide variety of industries, and we believe Rockwell Collins is among the best of the best."

Purchasing is read regularly by the world's largest audience of purchasing executives and supply-chain managers. It serves more than 95,000 professionals working in manufacturing, process, and service companies throughout the full spectrum of business.
