Rockwell Collins to discuss latest technologies and airline wins at Farnborough 2012
At this year’s Farnborough International Airshow, Rockwell Collins is showcasing its newest technologies for commercial
aviation and government customers and announcing a number of new avionics and service contracts.
“Farnborough’s status as one of the largest global events for our industry provides the perfect backdrop to discuss our
latest program wins and demonstrate the new capabilities we’re bringing to the next generation of commercial and military
aircraft around the world,” said Rockwell Collins Chairman, President and CEO Clay Jones.
“From being the primary avionics provider for all U.S. tanker programs to major positions on new commercial aircraft
in Asia, Europe, Latin America, Middle East and beyond, our company is looking forward to the benefits our technology will
be bringing the aviation industry for many years to come.”

It was another action packed day at the Rockwell Collins Farnborough exhibit and chalet.
Early this morning, we announced several wins in the Asia Pacific. As this airline market continues to grow, we're well
positioned to provide swift, highly reliable service through our Dispatch Program highlighted in the announcements below:
Later in the day, during the Airbus Suppliers Awards ceremony, Didier Lux, Airbus executive vice president Customer Services,
presented awards to recognize Systems and Equipment suppliers to Airbus who have achieved outstanding levels of customer
satisfaction. Rockwell Collins was honored to receive a Gold award for their consistent delivery of “Exceptional Customer
Support Performance” and being in the top 10 for five years or more.
We also were officially honored by Aviation Week as a Top Performing company at a special ceremony onsite. Watch for
more images and news about this announcement tomorrow.

We started this year's Farnborough with a host of news announcements for the Air Transport marketplace -- including the
offering of a new flight deck for 757 and 767 aircraft. The
garnered attention in the Farnborough Show dailies - and was a key topic of interest in executive interviews taking place
at the show.
International airline avionics wins also made headlines, including a signing ceremony at our Chalet with Thomas Cook airlines.
Claude Alber, vice president and managing director of Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EuMEA) for Rockwell Collins
and Bernd Bechtel, executive vice president of Group Fleet Management for Thomas Cook Group PLC sign
to purchase our radio sensors and avionics for its new Airbus A320 and A321 fleet.
We also announced that SWISS has selected Rockwell Collins’ dual Head-up Guidance Systems (HGS™) for its new fleet of
30 Bombardier CSeries aircraft. The dual head-up display (HUD) configuration, offered as an option by Bombardier for the
CSeries, brings the latest technology for optimizing flight path, including Rockwell Collins’ exclusive autonomous flare
guidance to help avoid hard landings and tail strikes.
“Dual HUD makes a lot of sense for the routes that SWISS flies − London City, with a steep approach and relatively short
runway, is a great example,” said Jeff Standerski, vice president and general manager, Air Transport Systems for Rockwell
Collins. “With this configuration, pilots stay precisely on approach path and autonomous flare guidance provides visual
cues for smooth and consistent touchdowns.”

Journalists and the public can also connect with the company through its social channels via @RockwellCollins Twitter
feed and Facebook fan page. Press kits will also be available onsite at the Rockwell Collins Chalet and exhibit. Journalists
are encouraged to check back frequently for the latest news and information from Rockwell Collins.
Attendees are invited to stop by the Rockwell Collins Exhibit (Hall 4, Stand F9) for product demonstrations and conversations
with key personnel about the company’s newest offerings, including:
- Pro Line Fusion® - Pro Line Fusion offers unmatched breadth and capabilities that span from turboprops to air transport
and military aircraft. The system integrates and displays essential flight information through empowering, graphically
rich interfaces, including high-integrity head-up guidance featuring synthetic and enhanced vision and the industry’s
largest format LCD primary flight displays (15 inch).
- Head-up Guidance System (HGS®) - Rockwell Collins leads the commercial head-up display market. By effectively eliminating
the need for pilots to continually transition from head-down instruments to head-up, out-the-window view during critical
phases of flight, HGS provides enhanced situational awareness and energy management in VFR and IFR flight conditions.
With eyes focused out in front of the aircraft viewing the presentation of flight path, flight path acceleration, visual
glideslope angle and the runway aim point, pilots can achieve greater precision and situational awareness at all times.
- MFD-2810 Multifunction Display - The MFD-2810 8" by 10” Multifunction Display " (MFD-2810) is one of the most advanced
displays on the market, equipping the latest generation of helicopters. It delivers video and graphics on an XGA resolution
with a high performance Active Matrix Liquid Crystal Display (AMLCD). Offering the latest generation graphics engine,
MFD-2810 allows customization through the ARINC 661 open standard. It includes Avionics Full-DupleX Ethernet (AFDX)
to provide significant network flexibility and reduces aircraft wiring and weight, and by adding a 3D graphics processor
enables applications such as synthetic vision.
Cabin and Connectivity
- PAVES™3 - Rockwell Collins PAVES 3 is the only single-aisle digital in-flight entertainment system to offer customizable
cabin configurations. Airlines can select from a variety of overhead and in-seat monitor combinations throughout the
aircraft. The on-demand, in-seat solution maximizes passenger and operator satisfaction with a vast range of innovative
features powered by a robust operating system.
- ARC-210 Gen5 radio - The new ARC-210 Gen5 radio features an optimized Software Communications Architecture, embedded
modernized programmable next generation information security and extended frequencies to 941 MHz. In addition, the Gen5
radio provides airborne networking capabilities including the next generation Joint Precision Approach and Landing System
(JPALS) UHF data link capability, insertion of Tactical Secure Voice (TSV), Integrated Waveform (IW), Combat Net Radio
(CNR) and Single Radio Relay (SRR) capabilities. Likewise, the Gen5 radio supports next generation IP based waveforms
such as Soldier Radio Waveform (SRW) and eventually Wideband Networking Waveform (WNW) and Mobile User Objective System
(MUOS) when available.
- TacNet™ Tactical Radio (TTR) - TTR, with its small size, light weight, selectable power output including a high
power option for maximum range and adaptability to the naval warfare environment, is integral to protecting the force
by virtue of providing warfighters with a common operating situational awareness picture through full Link 16 networked
communications. Platforms and users that can benefit from the radio include unmanned aerial systems, rotary wing aircraft,
forward air controllers, military vehicles, mobile and transportable ground stations, and small maritime assets that
have not previously had access to full Link 16 network capability.
- FireStorm™ for Joint Fires – This system networks ground and air forces, resulting in a common air/ground operating
picture, greater shared situational awareness and unrivaled accuracy. Features of FireStorm for Joint Fires include
shared tactical situational awareness that facilitates the decision cycle. Message exchange and target designation between
the FireStorm soldier, vehicle and airborne platforms are performed with a data link solution and interoperable ground
and airborne software. The system provides affordable operating costs, including software that is routinely upgraded.
- DispatchSM - Rockwell Collins will be highlighting the growing popularity of its Dispatch program for
commercial airlines, including the latest generation of aircraft equipped with Rockwell Collins’ most advanced avionics
platforms, such as the Boeing 787.
- FlexForce™ Life Cycle Service Solution – FlexForce is a comprehensive program for defense and government agencies
worldwide that brings together multiple service offerings from the company. With the FlexForce program, the most customizable
service solution available, Rockwell Collins works closely with the customer to share risk and provide transparency
in repair and supply chain on Performance Based Agreements. The end result is a service solution that meets each customer’s
unique operational requirements, including enhanced efficiencies and cost savings.
